“Mobility” best practice guide for businesses

Nearly four months ago, the Mission for Energy Transition hosted a special mobility-themed mini-conference following on from European Mobility Week. A total of 24 organisations, all of which had previously signed up to the “Business Mobility Plan” launched by the MTE in 2020, were invited to come and talk openly about their initiatives, best practices, and real-world experiences.

From converting (and rationalising) corporate fleets of electric vehicles, adopting “sustainable mobility” packages, and partially reimbursing employees’ public transport passes, to “mobility” surveys, bike racks, car-sharing, and flexible hours, the event identified a whole host of best practices used by businesses in Monaco (*). The MTE has compiled them into a brand new guide to best “mobility” practices for Monegasque firms. While not exhaustive, the guide contains a raft of handy suggestions for getting around more sustainably:

Other schemes could be introduced by businesses themselves, like the inter-company shuttle bus for employees who need to arrive at work before 6 am or stay until late in the evening, meaning they are unable to use public transport.

In short, exciting times lie ahead for mobility in the Principality. In a fast-changing environment with new approaches to travel and technological advances, you’d need a crystal ball to predict how people will get around in years to come.

In the meantime, we invite businesses in Monaco to adopt these best practices, and shape the future of mobility.
