European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) 16–24 November 2019

This year, the Principality of Monaco, alongside a number of other countries, will be taking part in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) from 16 to 24 November 2019. The theme for 2019 is waste education and communication.

EWWR aims to promote the implementation of sustainable resource and waste management awareness activities in participating countries, both European and non-European, over the course of a single week.

The Department of the Environment has signed a charter committing the Principality of Monaco to implementing waste reduction awareness activities during this week.

Stakeholders from the public and private sectors and from civil society are invited to put together and lead their own activities as part of the event. Actions must present solutions to the issue of waste generation based around the 3Rs principle: reduce, reuse, recycle. Clean-up operations will support this initial message.

Join the broad 3Rs movement for one week by taking specific actions within your company, your administration or your family, changing your everyday consumption habits to reduce waste and raising the awareness of others about this issue.

To find out more about the initiative, stay informed about organisation meetings, enjoy European media support and get your actions certified so that they are registered and showcased as part of the official EWWR programme, please contact:

  • Stars’n’Bars: + 377 97 97 95 95 – Louise Svensson

A Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/SERDMONACO , and the hashtag #EWWR Monaco will be used to bring together and highlight the actions taken in the Principality.

We will shortly unveil the list of meetings and public and private initiatives planned for the week.

Help us add to this schedule of events with your own idea!
