Mission for Energy Transition Highlights
The Principality’s environmental calendar has been busy in recent weeks...
Between the end of May and the end of June, the Mission for Energy Transition organised numerous events.
Highlights.
- 23 May: just a few days before the 1st anniversary of the MaConsigne initiative, the MTE met a class of high-school students from FANB and their art teacher Mr Papillon, who had been working on this theme: https://fb.watch/l9fmuNRXKq/
- 30 May: the clip Monaco ON “Sharing is caring” was broadcast, featuring the enthusiastic and committed participation of 2016/2017 Formula E Champion, Lucas di Grassi. The film aimed to encourage responsible use of Monaco ON charging stations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDPiItn4aA0 ;
- On 5, 6, and 7 June, for World Environment Day, the MTE made some high-profile visits to local creches to raise awareness, in collaboration with Monaco City Hall:
- On 6 June, a Participatory Evaluation Committee took place as part of the BD2M or “Bâtiments Durables Méditerranéens de Monaco” initiative (Sustainable Mediterranean Buildings of Monaco), dedicated to stakeholders in the construction industry. The aim was to present a number of Monegasque projects that are being run under the BD2M umbrella (heliport, Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology, upper Larvotto): https://transition-energetique.gouv.mc/Les-Actus-transition-energetique-a-Monaco/Commission-d-Evaluation-BD2M
- On 12 June, a special Government National Pact workshop was held, introduced by our Minister, Céline Caron-Dagioni. The meeting was dedicated to State Departments and Agencies, reflecting our Government’s strong commitment to reducing the Principality’s greenhouse gas emissions. The event attracted a large number of participants.
- On 16 June, the Monegasque Athletics Federation (FMA) signed up to the National Pact. The move made perfect sense, coming just a few weeks before the Herculis International Meeting (Friday 21 July). The Federation’s most symbolically important commitment is to establish a complete carbon footprint for the meeting, along with a dedicated emissions reduction plan, with support from the National Green Fund:
