Electric powered

 Since 1994, the Prince’s Government has pursued a policy of incentivising electric transport.

 Many of the actions put in place are at the heart of Monaco’s energy transition and focus on mobility: assistance to purchase electric vehicles; a network of free, powerful charging points; a reduced price for public car park passes for electric vehicles; free street parking and free annual car stickers; public transport and shared mobility options, etc.

Below are the February 2023 mobility figures:

 Mobility:

  •        Accounted for 39% of our greenhouse gas emissions in 2020;
  •        Target: to reduce vehicle traffic in Monaco by 20% by 2030;
  •        Klaxit: nearly 13,000 car sharing journeys in November 2022;
  •        Monaco Railway Station: 3rd place in the region, behind Marseille and Nice, and nearly €22 million invested in the TER service over the last 3 years;
  •        MonaBike: 46 stations – including one powered by solar energy – and 390 bikes;
  •        Monaco On: 120,000 charges in 2021 (equivalent to range of 1.3 million kilometres). Nearly 400 charging points in car parks and on the streets;
  •        By the end of 2022, nearly 14% of vehicles were clean-energy powered;
  •        Moving walkways, public lifts, escalators... nearly 140 such links make everyday life easier;
  •        All buses will be electric by 2025.

The Government is putting forward solutions at a nationwide level: it’s up to us to use them!
