Junior kit
The junior kit is designed to help schools and other organisations to run an energy transition workshop for children aged 9–11 years. It comprises a lesson plan, themed factsheets, a Pact commitment sheet and a cardboard ‘calculator’ that offers children a fun way to calculate their carbon footprint. The carbon calculator can be downloaded in two different formats depending on needs:
- a printers’ format: this includes crop marks and means that a professional printer can be commissioned to print, fold and glue the calculator;
- a DIY format: this can be printed by the activity leader on a standard printer for children to make themselves.
If you are printing the documents, we would encourage you to ask for this to be done on 100% recycled paper using vegetable-based inks or – as a minimum – on PEFC- or FSC-certified paper (from sustainably managed forests).
This kit was used by the MTE during Monacology in 2018 and in some optional classes for students in Years 5 and 7 in Monaco between April and June 2019. We would like to thank the Department of Education, Youth and Sport for their enthusiastic and productive cooperation.
